When you shop in a grocery store, do you look forward to hearing the phrase “thank you” from the employees serving you? How do those words, or the lack thereof, affect your perception of the venue?
Unfortunately, not all stores practice saying “thank you” to their customers. Though they may often put a smile on their faces, it would convey gratitude if each employee extended their appreciation through saying “thank you.”
As you mystery shop in a particular establishment, it is wise to take note of how each employee ends the transaction with their customer. Are they happy to serve their clients? Is their attitude amiable? Most importantly, are they saying “thank you”?
Customers who hear these sweet words of gratitude feel important and valued. When a customer feels important, he or she is willing to go back and spend their money in that establishment.
In order for you to help a business or to create a more constructive mystery shopping report, take note of the comments made by each employee. See if they are saying “thank you” or simply giving you your purchases and serving the next customer. That way, you can also include the final impressions their clients had in your report.
