Many people are attracted to mystery shopping because of the idea of being ‘paid to shop’.
Mystery shopping, however, involves so much more than ‘shopping’. To be recognized as a good mystery shopper, you must have keen observational skills and writing skills. The reports you submit reflect your ability to be an A+ rated shopper.
The short audio recording below was created as a training tool to assist mystery shoppers in understanding what we expect to see in your mystery shopping report.
A+ Mystery Shoppers …
The points Angela Megasko, CEO of Market Viewpoint, highlights in the recording:
- Objectively report on what happened during your visit. Let our client decide if the staff member correctly did their job. Your opinion is only needed where requested.
- Let us see what you saw. Details and specific descriptions of people, locations and interactions. Remember what was said and done so the client can ‘be there’ as they read through your report.
- Make sure comments match the ratings. Support each of your Yes and No responses. Could there have been a reason the waitress didn’t read off the drink specials? What did he or she do instead?
- Spelling, grammar and punctuation are important! Utilize tools available to make sure your reports are written correctly with no errors.
